Fished yesterday in the howling wind. Started at Hebburn Marina, cross wind was mental left to right, I was holding bottom but when I reeled in the wind was so bad I could not get the sinker on the deck to bait up again, it was comical ! Fished for 3 hours after morning high tide for 1 bite and no fish. so I finished the sticky blacks off and went home for some food then went back out again to try the Wear quayside opposite the glass centre for some whiteys but the wind was too bad to fish. Went to the Rathouse and again too bad to fish. So I ended up on the ramp on the old North Pier for a couple more hours and managed to find a bit of shelter. With the rod sitting on the tripod right next to the old pier on the ramp I could actually see a bite ! Ended up with one bite, one fish on Mackeral , a 30 cm Whiting to save the blank and went home knackered
