Had a venture on the Tyne from 9:30 til 15:00
Plenty tiddlers and some better ones coupled with surprisingly nice weather made it a cracking days fishing :)
One codling just sized but was too skinny so went back to fatten up for next time
2 decent flatfish (not sure of specific type, anyone know and have a way to tell?) which both went back too
And about 5 cod/whiting tiddlers which all went back healthy
Overall a good day out especially after blanking 2 weeks in a row :)

Dab are a bit more transparent, and feel like sandpaper when you stroke them tail to head, but smooth head to tail, and the dab I've had have been a bit more of an orangey colour rather than the light brown to dark brown of flounder.

Cracking session mate.

Not a bad session that dab and flounder few small codling thrown in. Mussel is coming into play now mackerel has been working for a few months. try using runnie downs tipping mackerel off on a pennel rig you will get some good cod.
