Fished 1 hr up, 2 down, used lug, razor, sprat. 3 very small codling ( biggest 1.5lb) all returned.
Would have stayed longer but a nasty lugworm burst when being put on hook and its guts sprayed into my eye. had to go home to wash my eye out as feels full of grit and is sore
But not a blank

Nightmare that Gerry, I'm alergic to Lugworm if they go anywhere near my eyes they swell right up, that's one of the reasons I started carrying the antibacterial no water soap with me. I rubbed my eye in the car on the way home one night and looked like I'd been punched a few times lol. Hope your eyes are ok in the morning and pleased you didn't blank too lol.

I'm glad someone else is allergic to lug juice, if i touch my eyes they swell up instantly. I even stopped using lug for ages but I'm also allergic to peeler juice, so I just get on with it. Tried using plastic gloves but they don't really work . That soap seems a good idea. Both my eyes have come up now and my nose is streaming, usually stops after 12 hrs.

nowt wrong with a bit of the old lug juice espeacially when eating a sarny when out fishing tastes better anyways for who made them :)

Lol coddy I'm not bothered about the taste of it, not keen but not bothered either.

Gerry, I couldn't get away with the gloves for worm as you couldn't feel them, not so bad with Crab or Mussel as there's no need to be very gentle with it. With the Lugworm I found I was more likely to burst it as you had no sense of touch. The "soap" is just a gel really, same as they use in hospitals, really good especially when you are leaving for home. A good dose of that and your hands smell sweet and your eyes are a lot safer. Most of the big stores sell it now and most chemist shops too. It also stops your steering wheel from stinking next morning lol.

Mark first mentioned it on NESA years ago, I've had some in the car and fishing box ever since. I reckon the Lemon is the best but I like the smell of lemon lol.
