Was going to fish rat house corner as we had a productive sesh there on tuesday night but had to drive to gosforth to collect my winning betting slip :D to pay for the bait. Bought lug from Fraser's as that's all they had left and ended up going to Asda for mackerel but they didn't have any, we settled with a raw sea food medley pack with squid prawns and mussels in. As we were in town anyway and i always see people fishing along the quayside when passing on the metro i thought id give it a shot.

When we got there there was a load of people fishing to the left of the bridge so we went to the right. After no bites in 2 hours i had a wonder to the left and had a bit crack with a bloke. Turns out it was a club do but got talking about bait and hook size. I was using a 1 hook flapper with size 3/0 on. The bloke said it was far too big and showed me his hooks. I've never seen as small hooks being used before so went to change to a 2 hook flapper using the smallest hooks I had with me. He gave me a mackerel fillet as well so if you're on here thanks again. Cracking advise, 6 fish in the next hour just using a smaller hook with a bit mackerel, squid and prawn on. Ended with 1 decent flatty, 2 under sized codling and 3 of the smallest flatties id ever seen.

Was a bit windy but turned out to be a canny sesh with after the hook change but wanting to start catching bigger fish now. Where are the big fish!?
