understanding where to post...

Is there anyway to prevent posts that should be in shore fishing being in shore catch reports? I've seen a few lately. I'm not pointing fingers just think reports are for reports etc etc.

Easy mistake to make especially if your new to the site or new to computers. Doesnt happen that much really and even when it does it isnt that hard to click back out of it when we realise is it?

I completely agree it is a easy mistake to make but I've seen a few new members post directly into the catch reports, numerous times. I'm not judging them but I think it might be a easy fix my PM'ing them explaining or something. obviously you can't have a auto PM.

I'm just throwing the question out there :D

and to eddie..... behave ;) lol

Theres a sticky at the top of shore catch report section stating what should be posted in it. New members should read this but most probably dont, maybe the new members could be directed to this automatically when registering, they may well be but its been that long since i joined i cant remember!

Is there anyway to prevent pedantic posts that should be deleted, being in shore catch reports? I've seen one lately. I'm not pointing fingers, just think pedantic reports are for pedantic reports etc etc !!!!!

I completely get your point. I was possibly a little vague about my reason behind this post. As a member who only goes shore fishing I have the shore fishing section as my bookmark (I do browse the rest of the site but this is my main section of the forum). I feel that if new members are putting posts in the wrong section that it could lessen there chances of a response. A example of this would be if they needed advice on starting up fishing and put it into shore catch reports, they would probably get a response but at the same time having a thread entitled "help with the basics" on the main shore fishing section would increase views and also increase a response.

Unfortunately there isn't a section for pedantic reports but I will ask if they'll stick one in for unnecessary exclamation marks !!!!! ;)

I have a firm grip. It wasn't frustration that made me start this thread it was purely a thought.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blahdee blah.

You make a good point Snagged up lad, at first i thought you were just been a miserable sod but your explanation makes sense, i also think that the thread title makes a difference, for instance if you log onto the site and see "poor day at the walkway" as a title then i dont bother reading it. But if i see "loads of huge cod at Mill Dam" then im going to read it!(or disregard it as a hoax!)
Newbies to the site will learn the more they are on the site, both ways, one way being information gained and learned and the other being more sitewise for want of better wording.

Should this post be in the shore fishing bit its got nowt to do with shore fishing. :D:D:D:D

haha its a fair cop governer, he's got a point Carl, school boy error mate.

Its a valid point though, post in the correct section will get better responses. Is the pest way not just for the more experienced members, if they notice a post in the wrong section, to offer a bit of friendly advice and point them in the right direction. God knows we've all done it either through inexperience or just by error.

And on that note...

Carl I think you might get a better response to this if you post it in the Conversation or Chat section. Welcome to NESA, im not sure what the answer to you question is but there's some good lads on here who im sure will be able to help.

Good luck
Phill
