Set off at 7am this mornin into a nice flat but foggy sea carefully over the bar and headed north ?
It wasnt long before we made the 1st drop of the day after only 10-15 minute steam for around the 1st hour it was ver slow with only a few cod coming over the rails average 3-4lb we then decided to tell the skipper we wanted to hit some wrecks as there was next to nothing drift and still very flat glassy seas although chucking it down with rain
Again a few more fish coming over but nothing big
This continued for most of the day until we had a run up to dunstanburgh over the ground i myself picked a couple of cod to 5lb on crab and squid baits
Only 7 mackerel on the boat all day
We finished the day with 43 cod on the boat a fair few put back undersize
I myself managed to catch 4 dabs ON A WRECK 2 coalies a whitey and 3 cod keepers and a cuple put back so i wasnt all bad bar not to many cod out to play

Also a nice wolf fish came over and got knocked on the heed
