[The Jester]

Set off from the marina at 10 o'clock to a perfect sea with a highly excitable Tel. Started 500 yds off the piers and were into fish every drop mainly whities but good ones at 40cm and undersize codlings, threw loads back and kept 6. Then went off Hendon Tanks, close in and managed to pick up 3 codling about two and a half pound and a few undersize released. Big Tel caught a good rock as well .
Not as good a day as i expected after the sea's we've had, but all the fish were full of feed.We run out of bait at 2.30 so calledd it a day. Overall it was great to be out there, watching the rods and drinking plenty of coffee. Never wore a coat all day it was perfect weather with next to no wind..

was going to go out to the blocks and the wreck at south shields beachtoday but decided to go to the can instead
we headed out in perfect conditions in the yak with tim the water was clear at the can but we both blanked didnt think it was cold today nice paddle anyway jeff

we had a great day mate perfect conditions,perfect coffee,perfect company what more can we ask for,appart from that elusive double figure cod.

Well done making the most of a break in the weather and landing some fish. Up at the RQ marina all the boats were confined to berths by the ice. If it’s not one thing it’s another.

Bit of both Arthur, we had more fish on the uptide rods but a lot of undersize. Was disappointed really, after the seas we've had.

Cheers lads, i just wish the fish were still there off the beaches, there's a lot of poor catch reports about at the minute....But as anglers we'll just keep trying...
