Fished the Walkway last night for the first time ever. Got down there shortly after 7:30pm with HT at 10:30pmish. Canny little session, stacks of small stuff with almost a fish a chuck mainly coalies up to 30cm plus a little codling of 28cm on the flood.
Fishing died for an hour over slack water then as the ebb kicked in it picked right up again, had a codling just size at 36 cm, another coalie then a snotty Eel which completely trashed my rig
Then last chuck (work in the morning
) I had a decent pulldown which resulted in a plump little codling of 42 cm which weighed in at a smidgen over the 1 1/2lb mark which came home with me for tea.
Most of the fish came on runnydown tipped off with mussel on the bottom hook of a Portsmouth loop rig with only a couple taking the ragworm tipped off with squid.
All in all a good night, nice to get among the fish and try out a new venue and it is one I will definitely be going back to.
