Walkway 19th April 2012

fished from 1pm till 7pm, whole walky to my self.

set up at the bottom corner and had 2 codling in a short amount of time, which i was happy about, they went for my rag and maky.

had nowt else so headed up to the top corner, had no worm left so used squid.

1st cast wasnt out not even a minute and i had a canny coalie

5 mins after than i got my self another little codling

canny enjoyable session

Was great, screaming out till it started to rain then had to calm down cause i was bit worried about my line slipping on my wet thumb :/

Im no expert but i think all the way along is good, wen the fish are there.
I personaly like to fish the 2 corners, very snaggy place, lost loads yesterday

Nowt against the place fish wise mate, in fact I've caught some of me best fish there, in the season like, I wouldn't bother fishing there this time of year though.
It just pi**es me off getting chucked over and then there's that feel of hatred from the residents, car scratching etc. etc.

when that happens you should get a strip of leather or pvc on the spool
go on youtube and type in john holden and theres a video on this tip
ive tried this and it works for me when its wet and your hands are cold

aye mate just tuck it under your reel seat then hold the strip on the spool cast and when you let go of the strip it just falls back away from harms way simples

Hi mate I used to make mine out of inner tube round the top off, tape the bottom to reel seat, after casting it falls back, never slips and saves your thumb getting sliced.

Well done craig,you can have a bit sport in the walkway this time of year,you can get cricket bat rubber from most sport shops for as few quid,cut it into inch wide strips and tape it onto your rod below the reel so you have to stretch it onto your spool this will help with any thumb slip.
