Fished the Walkway for the first time last night with the Bro-in Law

fished from 6-11 over high tide, and was very impressed witht he locaion, niche shelter from SW winds (although last night was calm anyway) and plenty of space for fishing.

I was warned about ensuring I cast >75 yds to avoid the rocks, and this turned out to be important.
Whilst I was maybe lobbing my 5Oz about 100yds or so, my Bro inLaw was struggling to get that far with 4Oz and lost 5 rigs, whilst I managed to be snag free fortunately......

However... Despite the repeated snags, his rod tip was rattling away for most of the night, and he had a nice 1lb+ Whiting at about high tide, even when pulling free from a snag or letting it go slack, he was still getting bites!

Clearly the fish were on the edge of the rocks.

A good evening though and once the rain and wind came in about 11, it was time to exit.

Will deifnintely head back there again sometime.

Any tips from guys that fish there regularly? If my bro-in law is struggling with distance is there a cleaner section of the Walkway we could try and get to?

Should I be casting shorter to get into the fish? perhaps with Wireless weights, or rotton bottom rig?
