Walkway Tides

Going out later this week and was thinking of trying the walkway again, but would the 5.4m tide forecast for thursday be too big for this mark ?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

yes def to big mate i can just about hold bottom on a 4.8 with a 7oz lead any bigger when the tide comes in pulled to snags and tide going out tends to be snag free mate some people like it on a big tide as if you can cast to the middle it pulls you to the channels edge were fish feed but if ya not casting big distances ya pulled straight round

Yes too big mate id stay away from the rivers when tides are this big best off on the rock edges and beaches

If you have a decent cast and can hit the channel as said above then you can fish the bigger tides and I often do but if you don't hit the channel you will lose your gear as the tide will pull you straight around into the snags.... I ain't lost a set of gear here in about 6mths luckily.... nee decent fish either mind lol


Smaller tides but you will need some tide movement or you won't catch anything.

the futher you cast the stronger the tide pull to big to fish unless you fish the slack water window which will be a small window on these big tides it will be galloping

Thanks lads, think I will give Roker pier a try. Will the tide be Ok for that place, say 2 up 1 down ?
