walkway today

As one of the hendon beach boys has a bad back decided to have some easy fishing headed to the walkway water was like chocolate with althe fresh water but as we were there give it ago 3 of us fished resulted in 3 coddling for me only one sized but they all went back big black lug baits caught the fish crab baits coming back un touched at tkmes cany few hours of time passing any way

Funny that, crab wasnt doing the biz for me last night on ssp either, blacks were doing best. Well done on the coddy

black lug seems to be the bait at the mo!
by the way mate is it true you need an 7-8oz lead to hold bottom there??

I hhave found black out fish most winter or summer but crab this time of year is normally a must. The walkway has a big tide pull same as most of the tyne it depends what size the tide is i was using 6 oz today on a small tide and it was still getting pulled round in the channel 7s do hold better but they dont stay were you cast them mate

Nice report mate, the rain yesterday put me off going out today like, well done with the fish you got though. As for holding bottom the bigger tides are best avoided, personally I won't fish the walkway bigger than a 4.7.
