Just got back from there, fished the high tide from about 7 - 10. Got 4 bass, 2 flatties. biggest bass was exactly 30cm, the others were smaller, all on rag. Everything went back. Best session this year, really happy. Plus new shimano reel was amazing. some pics here, just the larger ones..ok so there aren't any pics here. why does it keep saying invalid file when try to link to photobucket? bugger

pics are already on photobucket, copied and pasted img code - is that the way? - but attachment window said invalid file. first time I've fished there, lovely spot it is too. I was right on the corner of the river mouth, just cast into the widest point where you can see the tide rips - not that far, maybe 50 - 60m out. I think the recent conditions might have had something to do with it. I'll try again with pics

exactly that. running ledgers, a beach rod/multiplier with 4oz plain lead, 15lb line/40lb leader/13lb trace, 1/0 hook, also had a 1-3oz spinning rod/fixed spool with a 2oz bomb cause couldn't be arsed with lures, they both worked. great fun on the spinning rod, the biggest one managed to put a decent bend in the beach rod too, it was impressive for a 1/4lb fish. stand on the corner and put the baits out maybe 45 degrees, into where I imagine the river has carved a channel. seemed to work, like.

looks like the kind of place they'll always be, especially after a few days of choppy sea. it's pretty shallow but they like that, the bass. tried sandeel for a bit as well but nothing on that, once I got one on rag I just stuck with it. good old ragworm. was going to try lug as well as I've caught them on it before, but ran out of time. maybe next visit, was thinking about monday but weather's looking pretty ****ty. :D
