Hi,

Had a few hours to play with today so decided to head up to Warkworth Pier with a mate, I hadn't been for a while and its one of those places where you dont know what to expect, catchwise. After the long walk (somewhat longer than I remembered it being...) I was pleased to see an empty pier ahead of us. There was quite a sea rolling as you can see in the picture below, and thought this might scupper our chances of getting anything. Anyway, we got setup and nothing for the first couple of hours and then at around half tide things picked up and between us we managed a couple of small flounder, a couple of plaice around the 1lb-1.5lb mark and what I think is a small rockling, I've posted a picture below if someone can confirm that is a rockling, or if not, what it is. All in all a canny few hours fishing and a canny walk...

Canny sesh mate with a couple of nice plaice. I've never fished that pier before but i really must sometime this summer and I'm inspired by some reports including yours. I think that is a rockling and by the way welcome to the site like.

Well done in fish mate. Canny report. Think I'll give that place ago in a month or so. When I'm at caravan (Boulmer). Might be a canny Plaice Summer Shot...
Welcome to site.
