in short 8 hours hard searching produced little for the 9 manchester lads that had booked the boat for sat/sunday:exclam:

neither wrecks or ground produced any great amount od cod or ling, coalies and mackeroonies ok:exclam::exclam: for the lads.at least there last trip was a good un,and they have booked a couple for next year:exclam::exclam:,so we aint sickened them yet:exclam:

yin thing the auld fool forgot to mention, there was a skipload of fish all just undersize or size (still too wee)and aal put back the noo!!!!!

I have a theory!!!

I have a theory!!!

A couple of months ago I pulled along side a warship moored beside Royal Quays and instantly "fried" my GPS antenna and radio. Then, a few weeks later I recall enjoying a great day on the local wrecks when HMS Illustrious came over the horizon and the fishing suddenly went off. In the past I've noticed the fishing is effected whenever a naval warship is in the area and I reckon their sonar equipment spooks the fish. On Friday evening I observed a warship steaming North and on Saturday we all struggled on the local wrecks.
It's just a theory but I reckon military sonar equipment equipment has a detrimental effect on our fishing and I bet that survey vessel working the area isn't helping our cause either.

The lack of fish won't be for the want of trying, but if the fish aint in a feeding mood, nowts gonna work. Better luck next trip.:):)
