Down here on my holidays and today was the first chance I got to have a chuck with my eldest laddy accompanying me.
We managed three species to bottom fished squid or prawns. I think they were puffer fish, whiting and the third might be trumpeter but I am not sure.
The whiting:

Next up was the fish I am unsure of:

It gave a great fight on the light gear.
We packed up at sunset after our cheeky hour but will be out again later this week then a charter for me on Sunday. One of my mates is going to take me to a spot for tailor and hopefully some snapper.

Fishing Australia

Hi I fished off a pier in Townsville wonderful best fishing ever had, but. I was warned not to lock the reel up wait for a bite like we do here had to wair for the fish to run or I would have had the rod pulled in ,enjoy the fishing mate

Nice report and a lot of casts of a lifetime for the younger, you know as well as me that the sea is a.lot warmer in Australia to prevent your leads from melting an old aborigines friend of mine said if you wrap your lead In kryptonite it lasts 3 casts longer,bb;);)
