Went up with Luke, my Grandson yesterday. Turned out to be a real 'Red-Letter Day'

Freezing cold with a brisk Westerly when we got there so we fished the worm on the little beach just owa the dam - blanked!

However, by aboot eleven-o-clock, the wind dropped and the sun got stronger, in short a 'beautiful Spring day'.

We went back to the car and had a bit of breakfast and dumped all the unnecessary kit in the boot. 'Travelling light' with everything we needed in wor pockets (me with me big plodgers on and fly gear and him with worming kit) we set off for a 'Yomp' doon the lake.

We gradually worked wor way back towards the dam, on the way, getting a stack of 'pulls' and 'tugs' (but nee fish) until we reached where the burn runs in 200 yds. short of the dam, that's when the 'real' fishin' started.

In a two hour stretch, I managed fower on the fly and the little fella yarked five oot on the worm, all good fish and a mixture of 'Broons' and 'Bows'

Finished up in 'The Moorcock' weell sunbornt and happy as 'pigs in cack'

All-in-all a great day, naar, A GREAT DAY! and bearing in mind it was a Bank Holiday, there were only eight members on and ONE Day Ticket sold.

It's what trout fishin's aall aboot! Solitude and beautiful surroundings.(and canny company)

Yeeze can keep ya crowded lakes for me.

Cheors,

Drof

Aye, Mick. It was one of those days that sticks in your memory for yonks.

Great photies by the way.

Aye, we fish 'Smiddy Shaw', but it's 'Fly Only' 'till 1st June so that rules out the little fella's wormin'.

Produces canny fish on its day (all browns)

Cheors,

Drof.
