What do u think the chances is geting out on a boat on sat from sunderland sum one says the wind is to strong for sat ???? Thank lads

IMO and it is just my opinion and things do change by the 6hr update but its 100% no chance of getting out, SE winds are shocking and its forecast strong.

As your skipper he will confirm and we never say yes or no until the 12noon update on the Friday

3.30am!!!!! i will of only been in bed 3hrs by then :)

Needs a U-turn if anyone gets to sea this weekend, i HATE SE winds with a passion, give me a NE wind over a SE any day....thou you cant beat a light west :)

As always the weather has changed and we will be out in the morning, 3 days ago the weather was a different tail...how things change err.

I still cant understand these early trips you lot do, other than you get a few hours in before the rat race starts from the marinas but if you enjoy it thats all that counts. 5.30am is about all i can take, any sooner and i just feel tied and no energy all day.

Anyway this weekend looks to be a bonus weekend for the lads, i doubt i will be out due to other things on but we will be fishing this Friday.

it can be magic!
Very early everything is so quiet...steam rising from the sea...nobody out there.

I always say, it does not matter whether the alarm clock rings at 4 or 8, it always seems like a hammer hits you.

another advantage is that after some hours fishing it is still morning and even after 10 hours fishing early enough to do something else.

I also enjoy this feeling of totally pleasant tiredness in the evening after a day at sea....surely you had this after the graveyard trip!

It's just "a fishing thing" Rich, across all the disciplines fresh water salt etc and across the world (see any fishing video) fishermen just like to be out there first and more early is more mad but better .....
There was a program out a year or so ago featuring clips from a lot of well known fishermen, or should I call them anglers (Matt Hayes etc etc) telling their own hilarious tales, and every one to a man (or girl Ali,Lynne) told of eerie dark early morning starts, wearing the same clothes, going through the pre night check list etc. etc. Just as we do now ....... a bit OCD I suppose :)
So I guess we must just get drawn into it :) :)
for me it was going out at 8.00am (yes and the rush through the lock) and meeting up with bert on "the boys" with a boat load of fish saying "it was good here a few hours ago" .... I soon got in the swing of the early mornings and never looked back :)
see ya out there about breakfast time :) :) :)

As i always say go with what you are happy doing, thats the plus side of having your own boat, you can pick the dates and times to fish.

For me early starts are not enjoyable as i dont feel like wanting to fish due to being tied etc but i do hate the 7-9am rush of boats out the lock bit.

Anyway hope you lads have a good weekend, i will only be out 2 more days in the month of June due to other things on. :(

The thing I don't like about early starts is, if you are meeting up with others and have to meet at a specified time, I go to bed and end up clock watching all night and don't get any sleep and feel crap all day.

I sleep like a baby before a trip these days...I set my alarm, accept the fact that three hours kip is better than none and drop off like a log :)

The day is done and we have a box of fish just as the RQ day shift is clocking in. We've often had the better weather first thing in the morning and 8 miles out too :D

Get back, grab a couple of hours extra kip in an empty bed and the rest of the day is still there for the taking :)

here's hoping we outrun the weather tomorrow, out and back before a drop falls or a thunder claps :) :) :) ... well you got to be optimistic :)

I still get all keyed up the night before a fishing trip arthur so if we were not out early then I'd just suffer in bed longer not sleeping :)

well thats (one of) my excuse for the early :)
