Fished Shields the day from 11:00 till around 18:00, total crap. Never saw anyone pull anything in. 3 of us fished using frozen crab and rag and the wind was a mare.
Last chuck pulled this little critter in to save el blanko. Needed a bit of provocation to show it's weapons like. Just thought I'd post it in case there's ppl out there unaware. If you get that black spine in yer it'll be sesh over.

Personaly I release them mate, can't see the point (no pun) in killing them. I put a thread on ages ago and there was loads of advice about encounters etc.

Surgical Pliers and thick bait towel doubled over will do the trick ...bloody frustrating when that amount of time on the pier with good bait .However you did not blank
