had the weekend over there poor the first night (friday)with only one fish for our efforts which fell to ryan doggy about 2lb

fished till 2am

saturday day only one whiting the weekend was getting worse when i lost my bank card.

I had, had enough by then but we were all the way up there so decided to fish saturday night

after a very slow start we thought itr was going to be as bad as it was on friday night.

it wasnt till about 2am when the ratchet went and i was hooked into a rather good fish 5 minuites later landed a 12lb 10oz spurdog which was my first double and my new pb spur. was weighed and returned safetly.

by the time i baited up and casted out ryans rod was going, he land a new pb of 6lb 12oz.

as i was unhooking it for him i had to let him learn himself as my ratchet went again estimated the fish at 6lb as a pack was moving in and tryed to get as many out before the tide beat us didnt want to mess about with scales ect.

ryans line wasnt in the water for 5 mins before he had his next one on as he reeling it in my ratchet went got it half way in then was bitten off so who knows wat that was a small tope or another big spur it was 100lb mono brand new as i had never caught a fish on that rig as i had just changed it so they lined couldnt of been fraid.

ryans fish was around the 5lb mark.

still had about a hour of the tide to fish which looked like to be constant action ahead but the lamps ran out after two nights of use and the tide had cut us of so we ended up wadeing of in about 3ft of water which was rather scary pitch black no lamps with all the gear at 330am

ryans weekend was made up new pb and a fish he aint caught before.

and i was just over the moon about my double plus it being a new pb and the fact that my mate had a great tym

Aye well done Stephen and Ryan you did well lads ,not sure I'd fancy wading off like that ,spare lamps next time lads even cheap ones are better than nowt.

sounds like a good nights fishing was had on the last night,i agree with the lads above tho,u should always have a spare lamp or torch just incase.well done on the pbs:)

Well done stephen,

Funny how your bank card never works when u are fishing :)

Just now and then it the quality of fishing makes it all worthwhile.

Great catch ...lets hope there are some left for next year...ring me next time you go and I will sort some tagging gear for you as the ssacn have just got a tagging programme for spurdogs off the ground.

Same goes for anyone else fishing in an area where they may catch spurdogs...pm me...I will get the gear to you.

Cheers
Dave
