Fished here for three hours tonight ,nice place but im still waiting for my first fish , it will probably only come when i pay for a sporting ticket knowing my luck

Hey simon-ayre don't be using them embarrased icons, that's my job - I've had about 5 sessions on still waters this year and 3 full days on the river and still haven't getten one out and I'm a very great fly fisher lad

Have you tried leaving your line out with no slack while you light a sneaky tab or have a quick drain - gauranteed to get a take.
Last time I tried doing both at once - peed all down the inside of me waders, dropped a fag end into my favourite fly box and bust a giggly sprocket turning round too quick. Grabbed my rod before it was completely submerged, struck and the fish spat the hook just as the fire set hold and the cramp in my whole upper body set in.
Sound travels a long way over still waters as well - the locals were still sniggering when I got back to the hut to sign out 9 hours later. (for a change
