Helloo fellow fisherman. The title of this thread explains all...
.
Fished the cleadon club match from 6.45pm till 10.10pm with me good pal and fellow club and nesa member Jamie (JamieBrennan).
We fished the back of Souter point all evening, and boy what a time we had. From the off we had cracking bite after cracking bite but couldn't connect with the fish. Then Jamie got the massive tug on his rod and was into a gud'in, or so he thort
. Turned out he had hooked a canny Bass of 43cms weighing 1lb 10ozs (cannot remember exact weight)
. It felt like good fish a fought like hell as it was a bass but he had hooked it in the belly somehow
Around 5mins later I got a cracking bite, which o struck into, fish on! Didn't think it was very decent at first, till a got it to the side and the rod bent well getting it up the cliff. The fish turned out to be the biggest of the night between us, a cracking 1lb 14oz Coalie, measuring 46cms (will upload pic asap), long, slim and a fighter!
After this I had 2 other coalies, non of size and were returned unharmed. Jamie had the same, but ended up with a coalie just on size. Couldn't have been a better night, clear skies, shooting stars, awsome sights amd some fishing too, non stop rod biting...
To top it off the was some canny species weighed in the club match, including:
- Codling
- Coalie
- Whiting
- Dab
- Dover Sole
- Ling (no, I'm being serious...)
- Pollock
You'll have to see the Cleadon club results to find out, but av got a shields club match on Wednesday nite so al know doubt give you's a report on that when it comes...
Thanks for reading.
