i;ve used greys rods for years without issue , i'd think its a pendulum cast and maybe a bad batch of carbon to blame for a snappage .

I used 1 last week mate and its a brilliant rod, it never snapped whacking a big bait + lead OTG casting for me. I think alot of these stories are made up of hear say, ie a friend of a friends rod snapped etc, although I do know the sonik sk3 story is real.

had mine for year now and the only problem Ive had is it fell over and the top three rings lost the inserts

So casting 5/6oz is not a problem?
