So new season closing in fast..what new gear has everyone purchased and cant wait to try out?

I have a tld 15 reel with a new ultra thin braid

A 6-8lb class boat rod 10ft

and a few new lures for them jigging days.

West winds, flat seas, sun over head...we can only pray.

Just been stocking up for the new season…moving to 50lb braid off mono, got a cuddy load of new lures, muppets etc and some Flashfoil lures – thing is I’m not sure if the flashfoils are best baited up or just fished on a trace …we’ll soon see!

Also stuck a new auxiliary on the boat but hopefully I’ll never have to use it

I’m just on the lookout for a couple of rod holders now and should be all set!

:):)

Have a Tld 15 loaded with 50lb ultra thin braid to try out myself lol. Will feel shady on my old abu 7000 tho. (just serviced it to ease the guilt)

Already tried the new shimano beastmaster uptider out at the weekend, managed to christen it so thats out the way with.

Something thats not new is that Amble marina have put their fees up again! In the middle of a recession and up they go! I know its a great service they provide but its still a big wad of cash to justify. Have the marina's further south upped their prices as well? Does anyone know how much the budget berths under 6 metres are at st peters?
I'm off to singapore on saturday with work so I'm going to have a look at the fishing goodies on offer over there.

Graham.

Yer they a good bit of kit, i have the 555s plotter and its just perfect for everything.

3 months to go and counting till i put the gear back on the boat then a few trips and then its out the water.

What’s new? A new kitchen. It was part of the deal that if I was allowed a new boat, wife got a new kitchen. The kitchen arrived on pallets a couple of weeks ago, I’m still waiting for the boat. It’s better the two arrive in this order otherwise I’d never get round to fitting it.

Couples of months yet anyway really, still lots out there on rough ground as some charters have proven in the past but am a warm weather fisherman :)

Not really anything new in design but new as in replacements :)

getting ready, filling up the stocks :)

The one thing that I'm glad for is the lead melting sessions me and the skipper did last year...I'd like to think I won't need to buy any 12oz leads for this season at least :)

...although I was wondering about pirks...hmmm mebbes need to get some more lead :D

incidentally I figured out that I was losing 6.359627 rigs per 1.59753 mackerel last season :p:D

goodness 10 sessions thats only 2 months  :D:D:D

but remember I`ve still got some left for you when I finished the lead off (lol about a 1/4 session :) )

As most people know it's swings and roundabouts with losing rigs on the boats...some days you can maybe lose half a dozen if that, other days you lose 15+ (at least the walk back to the car is easier :D)...I remember that infamous day over a certain wreck using the same pirk for over an hour and a half :o....wouldn't mind another day like that again this year

BTW for anyone looking in and wondering WTF! at Normans Walkers lures - they really do work !!

From the looks of the feathers, 30 grams of fat, 110 cal and a trace of salt :)

You can only beat a simple cheap lure that catches fish by a free lure that catches fish :)
