Whats the best fishing bait for on a boat?

I am hoping to go out on my mates boat bank holiday monday and just wondered what would be the best fishing bait for me to take? plus what would be the best lures as well?.

just my opinion i,d say best underated bait as to be mussel on a boat i outfished whole party once even my m8 said to me what using heroin lol, as lures i,d say 1 or 2 white muppets above a pirk unbaited lures the way to go as i have out in the yrs baited no good

m8 depends really what fishing you are doing, as you dont say wether its wrecks or rough ground, if its wrecks lures and pirks, if its rough ground i would say mussel
