Was there a comp on there yesterday and if there was does anyone know if anything was getting caught. I had a walk right along whitburn and there seemed to be somebody fishing at every available point along this stretch of the coast. Sea looked canny so would imagine that there may have been some fish about.

It could have been the Ryhope sunday match/rover or Sunderland SAA,both have rovers/matches on,on a sunday i think.

far as i know mate only wrasse getting caught from whitburn over the last week, was a few codling taken the week before

I fished jackies beach - we tried the mud hole and gun pit first for nothing. We only got a couple of rockling from the beach but a lad from your comp pulled in a fish about 6lb bud

not sure what its called but i fished between mudhole and jackies beach last week i suspect its the gun pit theres 2 points where a couple can fish comfortable on both points ,plenty moo,s about in the field behind also

That's the one bud. In between them is the coal holes and wreck point. I'm not sure what the big thing about the gunpit is as I've never really done any good from there. Suppose you have to catch it when the bigguns are in there feeding - pretty much like anywhere.

Mog, the sea need to be massive for the pit to fish well. But i know what you mean its never really been consistant.

You're right mate and a big tide. Suppose it is just a small hole really so just depends if you hit it right - like everywhere pretty much
