Whitby Rock Marks

Off down to Whitby on Saturday for a week. Could anyone advise me on some decent rock marks round the town where I could fish for Wrasse and Reddies ?

Ketleness might be worth a try, a little bit north of Whitby. Involves a rope climb which isn't too challenging. Not sure about wrasse, but certainly cod in the gullies given the right conditions

Thanks Mate - much appreciated - any chance of directions to get there ?

It's between Whitby and runswick bay, a narrow lane leads all the way to near the climb down. Follow the well worn path (you can see where to park, enough for two cars) down until you get to the first rope. There's two ropes, more just to make sure than anything though the latter climb is a bit steeper and you may need both hands free

Sandsend cliffs (not the biggest in the world) can be a good summer mark for cod, wrasse, coalfish and the odd bass. Is a few miles north of Whitby.
Here's a link to all the marks at sandsend.

Kettleness as previously stated produced both plus bass.

Look on the Whitby sea anglers home page under fishing info and then marks. Should give you some good info. Whitby west pier has produced some good pollock over the last few years too. Hope you have a fun week. Love Whitby, spent a lot of weekends when I was a nipper fishing the piers and harbour.
