Me and gary (billyturbot) set off for whitehaven pier yesterday afternoon and it rained all the way over when we arrived we were greeted with some nice weather at times it was t-shirt weather honestly it was really warm
We got set up near the end where the wall starts on the top level
We done nowt for the first few hours around 3 hours into the flood then i got a small knock which came to nowt but it soon kicked off i had 1 rod at distance and 1 scratching rod but i soon had to change to fishing both at distance were the fish were feeding. About 20 mins later i hooked into my 1st dogfish which made a good show for itself around 2lb i soon followed up with another doggie and gary was getting frustrated at having nowt yet. It was none stop action for the next couple of hours with doggies i did manage to pull out a small whitey aswell
I finished the day with 6 dogfish and 1 whitey
Gary finished with 2 dogs and a small dab. To say i enjoyed the day is an understatement it makes a nice change from the poor fishing on our coast
A few fotos on the next reply
Baits i used were mackie and squid
Gary was the same although he lost a few on sandeels

Whitehaven.

Whitehaven.

Good report David m8 and great pics too and plenty of doggies too but most of all at least it kept you busy a little while so better luck next time with the fishing m8.:D:D:D:D

Yes a nice day with a good angler, DAVID reminds me of my self when I was younger chucking them baits at distance, and really clued up on his fishing,as soon as my sandeel was hitting the water most times bang they were hitting lost a few coming in lol
Whitehaven is a canny spot, there's plenty of places to fish,as a local pointed us a few marks for Pollock plaice and bass
coming back made it in 2 hours door to door
so not a bad travel
Sunday here we come with Davy and brother in law
happy days starting to really enjoy the shore fishing again

Looking forward to it mate. Should start hitting fish on the spinners now as well so hopefully plenty sport to keep us all busy.

yes its a canny fish over there and a easy walk ,thinking about a trip over the morra 3 hours up on the pier than a few hours the morra night on the rocks for a silver bar ;)

Well done on your catch lads and trying somewhere different. I fancy trying somewhere different, tired of going the same old places and catching very little.
