Whiting

I managed a few at the end of last week mate (see catch reports), although they seem to be in greater numbers a little further south. I was managing (on average) one every half hour or so, with a couple of double shots, and not much happening in-between, so they weren't exactly infesting the place. I think they were all sizeable though (no real tiddlers).

However the sea we had on saturday seems to have put the knackers on them over the weekend, and with some more northerlies forecast for the next few days, the shoals may have broken up a bit. It'll be back to the rough ground & kelp for me tonight!

Gary :)

you going to try and back up with whiting for our next comp??

i hate having to try for ickle stuff, i like to try and sniff out some piggys (never works lol), but i have been contemplating a spot of flattie bashing over the last few matches.

when is our next comp, thursday then sunday?? ;D

i will be fishing the comp on thursday then i am away with work. My lucky streak of 3month has come to an end, no more sitting on my hoop :( away next monday.

i think there was a comp planned for this sunday as well?

Tony, one of the guys coming off Blyth pier just as I was setting up had been on most of the day and said they were getting a whitey a cast at one point in the tide, another guy had a 2lb-er apparantly. I got one probably just over 1lb but was getting plenty of their tell-tale rattles.
