Saw the sea was up so me and me mate Mark headed down Whitley tonight. started off as a nightmare session for me, weed, tangles, snags, lost rigs and crap casting. Was just starting to think about packing up when Mark pulls in a codling of about 2 pounds. I'm in a massive tangle on my reel and although I was pleased for him, it wasn't helping my situation. Got sorted out and cast out Mark pulled in another of about 1 3/4 pounds. Had cheered up a bit by now and was starting to enjoy myself.

Then I get a few bangs on my line and manage to pull in my first ever codling. Bloke on the beach weighed it for me at three pounds. Chuffed with meself and glad I decided to stick it out.

Ten minutes later Mark brings in another one of about one and a half. We've run out of bait by now and the tides starting to come so we pack up and head home. All in all a great session. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer as the bites were still coming.

Bait used was lug and razor, razor seemed to be what they were most interested in. Would like to get out tomorrow as the conditions look pretty similar but cant, looking forward to Saturday now.
