Whitley bay beach

Generally a low water mark with two exceptions. The rougher the sea, the further north you need to go to fish it. Once it is very rough, try the very north end by the boat station, down the ramp from the chip and put golf, at high water. The other high water mark is the high prom just down from the rex hotel.
The bottom is mixed, ranging from sandy patches to rock and weed. Like most north east beaches, it fishes best in winter and after dark. Try starting at the Rendezvous car park and work your way along the beach from there. Watch the parking, the council like turning up 5 minutes before the free out of hours parking, to hand out tickets.

Good luck.

Small-medium size tide over low with a big sea running. It'll empty out on big tides.

2 hook flappers, 30lb line. Crab early season. Sept can be very good as long as you get the seas.

Loads of marks along iit that can throw up fish at different times. Didn't really fish this season TBH.

The boat station at the north end of the beach is absolutely choca with weed and kelp and all kinds of flotsam and jetsam
