Only 4 turned out to fish tonight, but we all managed fish - some more than others!;)

1st - Chris Stringer - 7 fish, 10lb (Whitley / Blyth)
2nd - Mick Wood - 1 fish, 4lb 12oz (Hartley)
3rd - Ian Galbraith - 3 fish, 4lb 3oz (Whitley Beach)
4th - Gary Wilson - 2 fish, 1lb 5oz (Haven Rocks)

Heaviest Fish - Mick Wood, 4lb 12oz

Cheers, Gary :)

Few fish for your efforts was there any codling took from the beaches

Yes mate, Chris & Ian had mostly codlings (plus a flounder from Blyth I think) - I went to the Haven & threw out 4/0's with big baits for codlings, only to catch a whiting and a flounder! :(:( I'd definitely have been better going to the beach after all!

Gary :)

I thought blyth and whitley would throw a few codling up last night, i was hoping the sea's would last until tonight when i have the chance to get out but doesnt look like they have.

how flounder manage to swallow a 4/0 hook i had one on king eddies swallow a 6/0 sakuma manta lol

Yeah, it's a shame the sea's pretty much come & gone within 24 hrs - Chris had codling 1st chuck in daylight at Whitley, then a few more but think he ran out of crab & moved on to Blyth. Nothing big mind, I think the second heaviest fish was about 1lb 12oz. I had a feeling there'd be fish on the beaches but decided to try the Haven just to see what was there - managed one good rod wrenching bite but that was it, only small bites & stuff after that. Definitely worth hitting the beaches now if the sea comes away again.

Yeah, the sea had dropped a bit since lunchtime, I think the fish came from the Wilkies / Panama area. Nearly stopped at Crawleys for a few chucks but decided to push on to the Haven.....bad call I think!
