Fished the three hour up to high water at boat house on Whitley beach . Only thing I caught was kelp and a dog pi###ng on my tackle box . Sea was pushing I hard and had trouble holding the bottom . What weight would you recommended ? I had 5 oz and think maybe should have been 6 oz . Any beaches clear of kelp what produce fish ??????

im no expert only started proper shore fishin myself!!! gettin the hang of it now thougth lol!!!but in any kind of surf ya want 6-8oz lgrip leads!!! i prefer fixed ones if ya got breakaways put an elastic band round the wires to keep em fixed!!! they hold the bottom a lot better!!! and a bit of a bow in the line helps!!! keep ya rods high as poss in the tripod above the breakers to minimilisevweed gettin on ya line!!! as for weedless try the river or piers mate!!! further out so less weed knockin about!!!!
