hello i have a competition and whittle dene coming up next week and i cant get their before hand to have a practice as i have never fished it before has any body got any good advice on the best ways to fish it and what bait to go for

yes mate, i fish there all the time, some good roach and skimmers. Had a 70lb bag in 8hrs last month. I always find the pole, fished at about 6meters does the best, but dont be afraid to fish close in, had some good bags at 3 meters aswell. Fish 1 red maggot on the bottom, if you get plagued by gudgeon, switch to corn. I find it fishes better with the wind in my face aswell. Good luck, hope this helps.
