Winter fishing off the boat

Thanks lads...did you get the impression I like my winter fishing....!!! I\'ve added one or two things since originally writing it earlier as well.

Thanks,
Jeff.

but of course this must be used with caution .... LOL I remember Volante anchored at St Marys with all of you fishing at leisure with lines out .......... ooops everyone else was drift fishing and whizzing past time and time again ...... sometimes tooooo close (not myself I add, I kept clear enough) :) :)

Norman is quite right...one idiot would have went straight into us if we hadn\'t jumped up to the front of the boat and pushed them off....to be honest they didn\'t seem to care anyway...T@ssers.

Cheers Jeff, great post :D
Winter boat fishing sounds hopefull now

Hope their\'s a few days of summer fishing still left tho so I can try and land my first decent ling on the new boat. ;)

Looks like I might spot you out their over the winter Phil

Alreeeet Charlie,

Not long for those White Lightening in milk bottle nights. We really must get further a field this year...!!!

Jeff.

Depends on wether my new sideline as an Anthony Hutton looka-like continues into the winter months, you know showbiz, a cruel and fickle world. I\'m doing a PA at The Keelboat on Wednesday afternoon, \"Matinay Performans\" apparently, bring a bottle. :P

We really must get further a field this year...!!!

Aye Frain can drive us ;)

Alreeeeeeeeeeet John.

An epic post, Jeff......excellent stuff :D

Codfather - you asked...........now you know....lol ;)

Would just like to add - as well as Alan mentioning the warm / waterproof clothing - don\'t forget that the Winter daylight hours are much shorter( it can be dark by 3:30pm) - allow plenty of time for getting back during daylight.

That post takes me back a bit.I used to fish like that off the Tracy Jane and the Solitaire out of Hartlepool in the 70\'s.Those tactics worked then.Glad to see they still do.
Mind you the weather can be a bitch in the winter,I can\'t stress enough the safety aspect.I\'ve been on a boat when she got hit by a wave, one boxing day, and the mast hit the top of a wave,we were that far over, needless to say the skipper got us back in,we were just past the pier end.
Does that make sense?
