wire booms

alreet all...doing some tackle box lightening and found some wire booms probably purchased last yr but never really got round to building rigs with...how do they fare from the beach as i got them to try tempt flatties in the summer. would wire boom rigs be any good for the beach ? anybody favour them ? any tips?

They make great rigs for clean ground mate, just make them like a 2 hook flapper but with the booms added and plenty of bling on the hook trace a bit like this pic.

Phillus Mcsiphilus swears he caught loads of whiting on roker pier using these on 2 hook rig 2 years ago while everyone else round him struggled, so they must work lol.

Makes sure the snood and hook are clear of the main line.

i made one with the snood about 8 inches...hope its not too short...

Should be fine mate as long as they don't tangle.

people say to make the snoods around 6" long so yours will be fine

Can be good on clean beaches for scratching matches. They allow you to use light snoods with small hooks when trying to winkle stuff out. Good for stopping whiting twisting snoods as well.
