wot line for a boat reel????

I would go 50lb mono mate, better chance of getting out of wrecks.

We tried braid...........we hated it!

Mono should not be used as a mainline on a charterboat for wreck fishing. Does not sink fast enough and forms big bows with the drift. As a result it tangles other anglers who are unfortunate to stand next (or worse) opposite.

50lb mono....shiver me timbers !!!!!

Ach behave yourself Norbert! Braid is a total nightmare to untangle!

What matters is anglers using the same weight of lead.

"Mono doesn't sink fast enough!" Ha only if you have a 6oz weight on mate!

The right weight of lead and mono sinks just fine! :)

Well...speak to the charter skippers and see how much they like mono !

Plus: in 50m water mono is totally useless with shads

i use a good braid 80lb and a 60 lb mono shockleader around 15 to 20 feet long incase i snag wreck then youl only lose your rigs not your line mate and wont lose your braid we all do it and works for us;)

It doesn't matter what breaking strain mono you use once over 40lb, if you are properly fast in a wreck, it's just a lot harder to snap. My advise for what it's worth, go with 50lb braid with as light a weight as you can get away with so your not streaming away from the boat. Nowt worse than too heavy a weight dulling the fight of a fish.
