What is it with these machines? We got the kids both the Wii and the 360 between them last Xmas, Wii hasn't been a spot of bother. 360 though has been off for repairs twice, had the motherboard and cd/dvd drive replaced first time in May and was gone nearly 3 weeks. Wife and kids bought me Guitar Hero 3 for my birthday last month, I got a couple of days play and the machine went T.U. again with another failled motherboard. We've not had the infamous "Red Ring of Death" though.
Of all the consoles we've had over the years it's certainly been the worst for reliability.

It must of cost MS millions, all for the sake of a crappy heatsink design.

I was quite impressed with how quickly they repaired & returned the bairns console though.

Courier each time collected ours the following day, seemed to take a while to get to and from Frankfurt in each direction though (why are they sending them all the way to Denmark?!). Think it was gone about 2 1/2 weeks this time around.

Forgetting all the cartridge consoles we've had (still got atari 2600, megadrive and N64), we've got an original playstation, the re-modelled "ps1" playstation, dreamcast, cube, wii, x-box and x-box 360. The original playstation had a repair in the first year and now struggles to read disks at times, still not bad going for a console I bought 12yrs ago!

Naturally we have to *test* any new consoles prior to Xmas to make sure they work.. lol.

Wii is really good, it's a nice change from just sitting with a normal controller in your hands. We're waiting for "Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels" to come out, that looks like it'll be a good one. Kids like the sports games on there but also we got House of the Dead 2 & 3 twin pack and a couple of the "wii zapper" things that make the remote into a gun, great fun blatting zombies. Only game I thought was a let-down that we bought was the Big Catch Bass Fishing.

I've not bothered with a console at all since the kids old Playstation ... Oddworld and Crash Bandicoot ...WOOHOO.

Anyway the Wii is a great piece of kit ,only problem I have is getting on it coz wor lass is usually on the wii fit m'larky and then there's obviously the soaps to watch etc :mad:.

She still winges when I send her upstairs so I can play Mario cart on the BIG telly :D
