Made my mind up here in Scotland and that is next summer I'll have me a kayak.

Seen the Galaxy yaks on eBay which for £300 give or take seen canny...plus the fact they are less than 10ft long also appeals

Anyone had any practical experience of these?

Walking round the Mull of Galloway yesterday made my mind up :)

Me and wor youngn got ours 4wks ago m8 been out 3 times never blanked up to now ,but the fish are a bonus ,we got the moken 10 angler from amble retailer, which is 10ft 3" and its perfect ,as we were stuck for storidge, and i only have small car,i can only say its more than ample, for angling for us ,i was talking,to a lad the other ngt he had a persception which is a nice yak and perfect, but he said he wishes he had getting a 10ft one,for the handling onto his car, anyway good luck watever you get ,and its great way to fish and keeps ya fit:)

Nice one Tony :)...got to admit they do look an interesting bit of kit.....
You'll need a good paddle as well....a 40 or 50hp one should let you keep up with Norm...:D.......Good Luck with the project mate...:);)

Never heard of galaxy kayaks, but looking at them they look ideal to start out with. Some may advise to shell out loads more on a longer, more established make of kayak, but for fair weather and if not travelling miles out, these look ok.

Yeah, have looked all round and keep my ears tuned to the yak scene...as in anything you get what you pay for...am not after a pseudo boat for wrecking but something for pootling about inshore'ish :)

How well do they tow? I could take you out to the wrecks and whilst retaining the "crewman" services give myself more deck room :) :) :)

In fact taking it a stage further if you strapped it to the side of slinky you could still do the bait prep :p

Yes I remember the thought was to take the yaks out on the bigger boats then launch them over the wrecks .....

interesting .... pulling an 18lb cod up from 250ft from a yak.... :D

but seriously possible ...

This yak adventure is going to be based on a slow saving scheme...have got to save the pennies as well as create storage...oh and run it past the FPO :D
