Year of the Flattie

Bit of an epic tonight...

Started off fishing the Middle Bogs at Blyth from about 1800 - well over a dozen anglers of a like mind as the spot was chocka :o

Fished the tide up and it was quiet as owt - baits weren't even getting touched so upped sticks and moved on...stopped off at Whitley Beach and had a tentative couple of chucks...Tide was too high and there was loads of big weed about :(

Moved on again - this time to old faithful of High Shore, my expectations were low but I was happy just to be out :)

Lobbed a big bait out first to test the waters - nowt

Lobbed out a 2 hook flapper baited with single Rag - 5 mins later...

A double hitter :D...1lb plus (35cm) Flounder and a size Dab (22cm) :D

Alternated between big bait and flappers for ages with nothing else doing for a while...

Another size Dab (22cm) :D

Things were getting very quiet by this point but I had my MP3 and I was very happy chilling out

Last time I fished here I came back and ranted that I've never caught a Codling at this mark...

that's sorted now LOL :D...all fish duly lobbed back of course

I suppose it's quite fitting that my fishing year should start and end with some decent Flatties...my new slosh 20 worked a treat and is a dream to cast with - makes the okuma feel very clunky by comparison :o

Looking forward to the Freindly Match now and then N v S after that - C'mon the North :exclam::exclam::exclam:
