44 mark on Shields, I've had loads from there.

Also... Walkway, not so many but some very good size ones. Straight off the end of Roker during the day but they tend to be on the small size.

But for consistency the 44 takes some beating

South Shields Pier, Druridge Bay, Lynemouth Beach, Lower Tyne (i.e. Walkway). Haven't caught one for a while myself! One of my favourite eating fish!!:)

the best spot in the northeast for a dab is the heugh in hartlepool. we get dabs on there all year round. only small at the minute though. the ends of most of the longer piers casting on to clean ground will give you the best chance of getting one.

stick with size 2 hooks, 15lb hooklengths, a single luminous glowbead above the bait. any worm bait tipped off with a small piece of mackerel will work.

i know some will say they caught them on a 5/0 with 50lb hooklength but stick with the above to increase your chances.

i had 1 big dab in a open last year with 3 big flounder like dinner plates the dab was the same size off blyth beach.

Couple off the Heugh on Thursday myself

...also the Heugh is a good place to fish at the moment for those not as mobile as others...hint hint
Keep it shut please!
