        Hi Kenny

I fish the beaches on Teesside between Redcar and Whitby , gives us a shout when your off out this way and I\'ll happily meet up with you if I can .

Roll on those bitter winter nights with a pounding sea ..... not long to wait now !!!!
        Sure will Al
        I am going to Whitby for 11th 12th & 13th October.
On 12th I will be out on a charter for 10 hours - weather pending. The other days I will chance a chuck into the old north sea - see what gives. Might try the pier on the Saturday, then Saltwick Bay on the Monday. Have never fished at Saltwick Bay - you been there ?

              Kenny,

never fished Saltwick personally as like yourself I find myself out alone a lot of the time and it is not a place to fish without a m8 or 2 . You have 2 choices either the scarrs over low water or the nab itself over high water (once on there you don\'t get off til the tide ebbs back a few hours)...... both are good on their day but you need the right conditions .
I start my holidays on the 11th so won\'t have any problems meeting up with ya that weekend .

Al, I will ask you as you might just know
Which tackle shop in Whitby would I be best going to to buy pirks ? I need to buy about 10-12 for when I go on the charter in October.
                The cheaper the better.

I have been in both - I tend to buy my rigs from the one in town near Bills cafe, but the one on Church street ? seems to have alot more gear.

                  Kenny,

Sorry , I don\'t know much about either of them so couldn\' t advise which would be the best choice ....... if I ever need anything I tend to go to either Redcar or Saltburn tackle shops .

I know people who use old crome car door handle and add trebles , ever thought about this as a cheap alternative ??

Old Chrome Door Handles ? Seriously ? I had been trying to think of alternatives, but would never have thought of that !
Thing is - time is running out before I have to go - 12th Oct, so I am just going to have to buy some from a tackle shop on the weekend.
I was offered some cheap by someone on here who makes them himself (Cheers, you know who you are ) But with work commitments I wouldn\'t have got the time to nip up to Shields to get them.
Unless I find some cheap alternative in the next couple of weeks I will just have to pay £3.00 + each for them !!!

You must know where ther are some 70\'s style chrome tables and chairs,ie loft, garage, dining room, scrappy, etc.Or an old silver cross type perambulator, you could get loads off stuff like that, fill \'em with anything heavy, tart \'em up with shiny sticky stuff. And LOADSA BIGGIES.If you don\'tfeel like doing that you could always pay £3 each.
