Hello lads,

I need a bit of advice/help, finding a good fishing place in Swansea(Wales) where i came 2 days ago.I'll be here for about 2 weeks so i brought most of me fishing gear with me but I lack of fishing spots knowledge.
Has anyone fished here before?I haven't actually looked around, but I saw a pier in the area and also a lighthouse at "Mumbles" area.I also noticed some huge tides!!!I'll probably be going to some fishing stores to get me bait and also to ask about some spots with more chance of getting some fish, but i also wanted your advice. So?Anyone got a clue about this area? All info is very much appreciated.

Regards, Theo

Prob not much help, but we visit relatives near Port Talbot each summer. Last year I took a spinning rod and had a bit play for Bass, didn't catch owt but there were plenty of people trying. Only hastle I found there was a lack of bait shops, got mackeral from the local supermarket no bother though.

Well...after 2 fishing sessions down the beach, i have about 5 sea basses and an eel in my fridge.Caught another 5 basses but too small to worth keeping.Generally too much fish in this place and really easy to catch.I'm really amazed!Another positive is that they bite which ever bait you may use :o. I'll try to take a picture of the fish tonight...cya all later.

We go each year when we go to Port Talbot, heading down there at the start of August this year (must remember to put the rod in the car this time - year before last I packed all my gear bar the bloody rod!!).
