can some 1 recommend me a headtorch led

been looking at 2 models

the silva l1

or

Princeton Tec Apex

do u no any better 1`s in the price range of 60-70 quid

Lenser, Princeton Apex and also the Petzl Myo XP. I carry my Petzl underground as a backup light when I am caving so it gets a lot of abuse, and I also use it for fishing. Any of these three lamps are a very good buy mate.

Cheers

got my lenser just after xmass so didnt get much use out of it fishing but when I did it it prefomed well ive used it for camping and a mate borrowed it for the coast 2coast he liked it so much when he got back he bought one, if you use it in the rain give the on /off button a tiny squirt of wd40 they are not water proof

iv just orderd a lenser since i seen what they were like on youtube looks very good and bright and it was only 33£ of ebay

Got both the princaton tec apex and h7r both quality lights, the h7r is brighter but what i like about the apex its been used and abused for over 3 year and its still going strong, quality solid lamp worth evey penny, if the h7r,s last as long as that ,ll be over the moon:)

Have a look at the magicshine it says its 900 lumens but tests in america have proved it to be between 400 and 600 lumens i have had most headlights over the years and this is second to none it is more powerfull than the ultra and less than half the price i payed 80 quid but my mate got one off ebay for 60 it is made as a bike light for off roading i get 6 hours on full beam and 8 on half, also the batterys sell for 29.99 and weigh almost nothing as they are lithium ion, they are more like a large mobile phone battery i am investing in a second battery for this winter and putting them on the same belt as they weigh nothing , the only fault i have found with it is that it gets bloody hot in the summer months due to the power it puts out but in winter it just gets warm, i think there is some info on youtube about it , but trust me this is the best headlight i have ever seen for winter fishing i bought it at the start of last winter and know of at least 7 lads from seaham that have bought one after seeing it on the beach.

Looks good mate...what headband do you use, and is it easy to fit ?

some come with a headband it is very like the petzl type just make sure you order one that comes with it as they are an extra 10 pound the only thing you have to order separate is the cable extension priced at about 6 pound but some lads prefer to just have it mounted on the headband and some find that the standard cable allows they to put it in there top smock pocket , as for fitting together it takes seconds another plus is that all parts if damaged are available on ebay such as sed cable etc as they are very popular with mountain bikers.

Just curious Andy, how long will it last on a fully charged battery? I use various 900 lumen lamps for photography but only get about 2 hours out of a fully charged lithium ion battery. Whats the charge like on this one?

Cheers
Dean

it says 3 hours but i have had it go six hours on a trip it claims to be 900 lumens but it is more like 400+ from what i have read on biking forums about the magicshine is that the led is rated at 900 lumens but runs between 400 and 600, some do tend to be brighter than others from what i can see.
