Recommend me.....

I had a slosh 20 but got rid of it, love my 525. But like Jimmy said the slosh 30s are mint so are the 535s both are great reels for heavy ground 35lb line straight through.

Penn 525 mag is the way to go mate, much more rubust and better built reels, better casting control too.

A did the same andy £90 shop quality plus a nice shiny gold penn handle aswell

Looking at slosh 30 online it says " Rod clamp supplied" just double checking this reel can be put on a normal reel seat yeah?

Be careful mate, my sl30's fixing bracket is to small for my century reelseat so I would have to change the seat or take it off and either use coasters or the clamp supplied with the reel. I always used the clamp supplied on other rods anyway as in my opinion it's an excellent fixing and doesn't get in the way. Be careful again as it's just 2 small screws that secure it and if you overtighten you can crack the clamp, I did once.:(

There's nowt wrong with the drag on it mate. A had that reel on me rod when a got me 4lb 5oz codling, and it handled it with absolutely no problems what soever. Also the ratio is upgraded on these reels, from 5.1:1 to 5.8:1, which was also a great help. And to top it all off, its one hell of a casting reel, cast of the end of pier with it with wins behind ya and it goes for miles. Very easy reel to control for casting too.

On comparison I rate my 7HT Mag as highly as my Penn 515 mag2, which is my most favourite reel, so its really highly rated by me. :)
