anybody rate them ??

Most anglers tend to think the longer the rod and heavier the lead will equal longer casting distances.
for what its worth i disagree.

Should this thread be in the catch reports?

I don't think long rods cast as well. Otherwise people would be using them on the field.

However, they might with a simple overhead thump!

century rule the roost round here in the north east without doubt, sum zziplex might start off with good intentions but after a bit abuse they turn into sticks of rhubarb, not good karma ! :o

have to disagree with you there mate zippys dont seem to go as floppy as the centurys do after a bit of use the zippy i have is around 3 or 4 year old and its stiffer than my mates supersport that he got last year

heavier lead lets you compress the rod more, and has more momentum to drag out your line... all 300yards andy ;)

7oz wieght gets you atleast 30more yards on a cast in a headwind over a 5oz... just heavy and uncomfortable to fish with all the time for me...:red:

ive just got my cmc black bird 15ft and just wondering who"s got one and how you rate them if you have used, and iam using mine down at kirkleatham this year so any imfor would be great thanks

When you pick the lead up just think of England stuffing the Aussies in the cricket. You may not be a cricket follower but just think about it when you start putting the power on!:):):)

Totally agree mate, you gotta be able to correct your cast to suit the heavy lead, trouble is some anglers cant handle anything above 5ozs...need to get more practice and improve they technic, any rod will do doesn't have to be state of the art jobby, its down to the man using it.:)
