Which Headlamp ?

Tiga SL85 for me, heavy battery but a canny light on it.

Just bought a Ron Thompson 1, 3 or 8 led light as a back up/at mark light, only takes 3 AAA batteries and next to no space.

Use the Tiga for clambering over the rocks and then the RT when at me fishing spot.

I used to use a carry case for the battery of the Tiga, but now just have it in the side pocket of me rucksack, makes carrying easier and more comfortable

ive got a tiga lamp
very good
a bit heavy though

You\'ve got the neck for it though Sless :o

Andy Rutherfords got this thing on display in his shop, it\'s the size and weight of an LED job £179 and outperforms Tiga / Samalite types apparently.

for the brightness go for the tiga SL85
battery is half the weight of the tiga sl10 and u dont even know u have it on and it will light up a rod tip 100 mtrs away
3 hrs to charge from flat and u can get between 6-8 hrs depending on which beam u have on

best part of £200 but worth it if u are going to get the usage out of it

canny fault it one bit

macky

Aye Rich, but it\'s the size of a premiership footballers wristwatch, large for a watch but tiny for a floodlight.

Sless,
Did you get ya problems sorted out with the Tiga, then?

When this question came up a while ago, you were having probs with it.

10 Quid for a 12 LED headlight, I bought mine for 30pence plus 5.99 postage :D
cracking good headlight too, if you look carefully on ebay you can pick these up for 1p!

Inspired by your post paula, I went and had a look, and yup, there they were loads of em, about to end, starting bid 1p and no bids so stuck a bid in and got one for a penny!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7106873170&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:UK:6

nearly placed bids on a few, incase I got outbid on one, glad I didin\'t as I would probably now be the owner of several 1p headlamps

Coops, I\'ve just emailed Nightsearcher about buying just the headlamp (no battery or cable) to upgrade to the Nightsearcher Mk2 which is purely halogen and has a powerful 500m beam. They emailed me back saying that I didn\'t even need to buy the head unit - they\'d sell me a halogen conversion kit for the 2 in 1 for £28 delivered. The cheap way to an even better lamp! :D
