Hello Everyone
I am still trying different rigs and haven`t settled on a preferred one yet.So far i`ve tried short and long clip down paternosters, long and short pulley rigs and a simple loop rig with the loop about 6in from the lead and a hook snood approx 18in attached to it .
Which do you prefer and do you make them differently for different angles eg rock edge/pier/cliff ?

Cheers
Martin

I'll be following this thread...

So far I've used pulleys with canny links, blood loops, three way swivels and a length of line with a hook on one end and a link on the other with a figure of eight knot in the middle :D No preference yet though...

close in heavy work the simpler the better no fancy clips etc just loops for me

I found that with this method i`d hooked fish but not seen any bite ,just felt them once i reeled in so think perhaps i`ll shorten the hook snood to help prevent those fish laying on but you`ll always get one or two like that .

I tried the canny links but found they didnt always release the lead so i just use the upside down genie clip with baitholder as that releases everytime for me - if only the rocks/kelp would release them back everytime eh :D

Yep rotten bottoms are all i use mate. Is your hooklength still longer than your lead snood or is the lead attached direct to the 3 way swivel ?

Lead length of maybe 18". I always tie an overhand knot in the line aswell to weaken it just to make sure it will snap before anything else. Keep the hook snood about 12" for me. Keeps the hook and bait above your lead. Had a few nice codling wrasse coalies etc using it. Not a go to rig for me as I don't fish rough very often but always found it effective when I do. Lead and hook both tied off the 3 way. Mainline to the top of the swivel
