I know ita a brilliant bait but have never used it befoire is it easy to keep or do you have to use it within a day or two of buying , can you use it for tippng other baits etc,

Its probably the best worm bait around if you can get it,it keeps the same as Rag worm,probably a week or so in a fridge or keep them in a tank with sea water and a pump with regular water changes if possible,if they are snakes use them as your main presentation of bait and use something else to tip your bait off,mussell,Mackerel or crab.make sure the area you want to fish is producing fish as Whites are expensive to buy and its a shame to waste them.IMO

You can keep whites for upto 4 months if you look after them properly,no more than 5 snakes in a tray with half an inch of coal dust and half an inch of water.Dont touch them often and if you need to change the water put it in the fridge overnight to bring it too the same temperature as they do not like changes in water temp.Also dont put smaller worms in with the big ones as they will not be there very long!!
I have found them harder to keep when dug in Aug/Sept (prefer getting them in oct/nov if tides allow) but still will last a couple of months if done correctly.

I\'ve had mixed success keeping Rag worms,what sort of ratio do you\'s use, tank size V water Volume V amount of worms ?

The coal dust is widely used Alan,they bury themselves into it and helps to keep them docile and stop attacking each other otherwise they eat lumps out of each other!Forgot to add,if you have a dead worm get it out of the tray immediately or they will all go

All proper advice above for managing your hard-earned whites. Using these methods, I keep August whites right through to the Bridlington Open in March. These will also have been on many a trip out and back throughout the winter. Look after them well and you\'ll have names for each of them by March !
