Had a trip down to South Shields pier last night, It was like Northumberland street on a saturdy afternoon. Dont know if there was a comp on, but everybody seemed to be out. Winter Fishing is definately here.

A few small codling,but mostely whiting.

Our kid and me have fished Shields pier a few times recently, and had mainly whiting from the rail end, but no codling yet.

Sorry I, m late back answerring, the codling were comming fron just before the end, seaward side.
Didnt go right up to the end, so didnt get to ask the guys up there.

There was a comp from S/land on last night ,seen 3 lights on frenchies 1 on the Knuckle - one lad jumped over to talk to me to ask what it was like - i said it was crap and was packing up shortley - if it was anyone off the board ,sorry mate ,but you know how it is

no mate hadit in first coming of the grassy and it jumped into second and just stayed there so started driving home in second cos it was well stuck drove up by velva and the boat clubs going over the speed bumps then that big hjill half way up that hit another speed bump jumped into neutral lol had to push it up that big hill wet road not good was knackered lol

140 to get it sort just had a new gear box in it lol so probs not fishing monday

Sounds a bit wierd that mind you ,its a manual box isnt it - the only time i have heard of a gear shift \"on its own \" is on an automatic box , unless the syncromesh has TOTALLY gone and it is skipping out of gear - but that is a clutch problem

Hope Brashy gets it sorted anyway - racing you guys through the Tunnel wont be the same
